I’m going to try and keep this short and sweet - I’ve been wanting to write down WHY I started Marea. I started it as an extension of the joy I feel in my life, as a mother of three, living life by the sea. I wish that every time I walk down to the beach with my family, or every time I go for a walk along the shoreline in the morning, or when we have bonfires at the beach with friends, I wish that you were all there with me. I wish you could feel the contentment, the peace, the joy that I have in my heart. I wish I could hold your hand, give you a hug, and take you with me on these seemingly simple activities.
I am designing pieces with the help of my amazing team, that are made to be worn for moments like these. And maybe, when you slip on a Marea piece, no matter where you are in the world, no matter how your day went, you feel a little bit like those dreamy moments I described. I hope they serve as an escape when you need it, a friend when no one else is around, a vision for your future, a dream realized. I hope you wear Marea when you celebrate life’s greatest moments, I hope you get excited to pack your suitcase with your favorite dress, I hope our pieces take you through life, whatever stage you’re in, with comfort, happiness, grace and peace.
I started sharing clothing over 10 years ago, and it has been such a fulfilling part of my journey. I felt that it was time to make my mark in fashion, to design pieces for us, and to build a brand for the community that I have known and loved for so long.
